HOTEL SON GRIS

IN SELVA | MALLORCA

If you love sport, you enjoy nature and you like to eat well? Mallorca offers you an endless number of activities, dream spots and places where you can sample the island’s gastronomy to provide you with memorable experiences.

CYCLING ROUTES

The wonderful Mediterranean climate of our island allows you to go cycling almost 365 days a year. In addition, Mallorca allows you to enjoy beautiful routes, mountain passes, picturesque villages… In short, an endless number of wonderful places that you can’t miss. Here are our favourite routes 😊

PUIG DE RANDA

Also known as «the sanctuary of the priest» or simply «priest» it owes its name to the fact that we found the first monastery in Mallorca, built in the 13th century. Unlike many of the best cycling climbs in Mallorca, the Randa climb is not in the Serra Tramuntana, but rather in the centre of the island. The excursion is one of the most recommended for family tourism and lasts two and a half hours.

FROM BINISSALEM TO BINIGUAL

The starting point is Binissalem, located in the centre of Mallorca and famous for its incredible wines. The route starts at the train station in Binissalem and from there you cross the village until you reach the main road to reach the Cami de S’Aigo and then take a detour in the direction of Sencelles – Biniagual. It takes about an hour to reach Biniagual, a magical spot surrounded by vineyards and traditional crops.

CAP DE FORMENTOR

One of the most special routes in Mallorca due to its spectacular views and now safe as the circulation of cars and motorbikes for private use is prohibited. This iconic road route will allow you to enjoy incredible views of one of the greatest treasures of our island; the Mediterranean.

COLL DE SA BATALLA

Just outside Son Gris, only 2km from Selva, you will find the small village of Caimari, famous for its olive oil and where one of the most beautiful mountain passes of the island begins. In the middle of the Sierra de Tramontana mountain range with a length of 7,8km. A brilliant climb and undoubtedly one of our favourites!

SA CALOBRA

This cycling excursion is not suitable for cyclists with vertigo. Sa Calobra, which belongs to the municipality of Escorcà, is located at the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis. This route is impressive for its beautiful views, its curves and the difficulty of its ascent for cyclists. It is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular roads in the world.

EXCURSIONS

Thanks to its orography and location, Mallorca is one of the best places in the world for hiking. Some of them run through the Serra de Tramuntana, others along the coastline, some lead to beautiful coves and others allow us to see the traces of the past. Whether with a sandwich in your backpack or with the intention of stopping for lunch in one of the many restaurants in Mallorca, we share with you our favourites below.

RESTAURANTS

Mallorca’s gastronomy is very rich and varied. Its recipe book is exceptional and brings together on the table the cultivation of vegetables and cereals of the inland countryside, the breeding of pork and its tasty sausages, as well as fishing on the Mediterranean coast.

In the village of Selva itself, we have a varied offer:
